Proud.

Using a prompt from Mama Kat. This week I chose, "Describe something -one you're proud of."

In this case, I will use this post to tell you how proud I am of...

...my husband, the worker. He works hard so he can provide for our family. So I can stay home with our children. And who just took a new position within his company!

...my husband, the coach. He coaches three soccer teams. He holds 2 practices twice a week and has 3 games on Saturdays.

...my husband, the teacher. He's a great example - stand up for what you believe in. He teaches our children about faith. He teaches us about patience and how to laugh at one's self. He teaches us that sometimes it's not quite the result you expected but that doesn't matter - it's how you got there is what counts. He teaches us to be kind.

...my husband, the advocate. He's been in front of the School Board so many times, they know him by name now. (Unfortunately they know his name.)

...my husband, the jokester. Who else would stuff an entire cupcake in his mouth for a laugh? Or teach his child how to arm-toot? Or dress up for Halloween?

Photobucket

...my husband, the protector. He makes sure we're safe. He locks the doors at night, he checks the air pressure on the silver bullet (aka minivan) and remembers to remove MG's earrings before her soccer games.

...my husband, Handy Manny. Who else would unclog a toilet, change the oil, mow the lawn or paint a room?

...my husband, the husband. He keeps me sane, he makes me laugh and he gets me.

...my husband, the father. A dad who stops what he's doing to explain why leaves change color. A dad who can make a fort out of pillows and blankets. A dad who has the patience to build lego sets. A dad who loves learning from his children.

(this video was originally posted on his birthday and pretty much says it all)

He's a good man, a better husband and the best dad.

And I make sure to tell him every day (ok, maybe every other day) we're blessed to have him in our lives.

Love the picture where your husband is holding your lil guy with waves in the background. Truly an example of what a dad should be. And an advocate for education? Love it!!! How truly blessed you are and your kids are, too.

Very very loving post! My hubby coached basketball for a few years. It's so hard isn't it? There is so much involved with coaching...and pretty unappreciated some times. Good for him in making a difference in many kids lives!

Aw, that was just beautiful - now you need to make sure he reads it! I am just loving that photo of him on the beach - what a great dad moment. I think maybe I need to expand my Mom challenge to include some more photos with Dad, too.
