Sweet Jennifer at What's Shakin' gifted the Honest Award to me before Christmas and because I procrastinate (honest thing #1), I'm just posting about it now. Thanks for thinking of me Jennifer! Here's the award rules:
- Write a post about the award, link back to the person who gave you the award.
- Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
- Add links to those blogs on your blog.
- Leave a message for the nominees on their blogs.
- Name 10 honest random things about yourself.
1) See above.
2) Because of #1, I used to tell my mom (sorry ma) I had "cramps" so I could stay home and start & finish (in one day...what was I thinking?) school projects. These were projects that were assigned at least a month in advance. Yup. Cramps saved me.
3) KK will go through his First Penance at the end of the month as he prepares for his First Communion. I have not been to confession in a long time. God and I have our own regular but private talks.
Wow. This sort of feels like confession.
4) I still watch MTV. I know I'm
Do you still like me?
5) I lived in NYC for a summer between my junior and senior year of college. I had an internship with an advertising agency. It looked great on the resume but I remember playing more than working.
Oh...I feel like I'm just digging myself a hole. I have to redeem myself.
6) I have never sent back a meal at a restaurant. No matter how bad. I just can't. That's not really being honest is it? I just can't hurt the chef or waiter's feelings.
7) Growing up Filipino we always had rice with each meal (including breakfast) along with a traditional filipino dish. Well. I can't cook filipino food. I've tried but it just doesn't taste like it did growing up. I can make a pretty decent fried rice though.
7a) I ate mac n' cheese (the box kind) for the first time...in college.
8) I still read the comics in the paper.
9) I don't like to exercise. When I do, I get this really red, intense itchy rash all over my legs. G tells me it's all in my head but I swear, it's real. I know there's a name for it...just can't find it on google. I told G that "that having a big butt is good for my health." He's not buying it. {btw, you had some funny comments about this news.}
10) Like Jennifer mentioned in her Honest 10, I, too, am on the WWW too much. It's hard to tear myself away from all your blogs. Is there something called the "blogger 15"?
I would love to pass the Honest Award to these truthful bloggers, who always say it like it is. Honest!
- Allison @ Slice of Heaven: her mother letter project...so true.
- Sheila @ Ma Vie Folle: painful and no-holds-barred post about her dentist visit...ouch!
- Jen @ momma blogs a lot: her post about resolutions...keeping it real.
- Mom2Amara @ Mom2Amara: read what Amara said about a relatives' house...kids are so honest.
- Erin @ Suburban Fizz: candid about coupons
- Liz @ Mabel's House: her recent post about playing house...hysterical.
- Darcie @ Such the Spot: read what the broom guy at her local grocery said about her...

I just learned about cooking all this Filipino food in the last 5 years or so. Just try, it gets better every time. With that, I can still make only the simple stuff.
Happy Monday, Jen!
I've been known to sit down with Haley and watch the hills. ;D
what a deprived life you lead, going all those years without boxed mac & cheese!!
Congrats on your award! Great honest facts. I still watch MTV sometimes too. I watched The City just the other day. LOL
I just learned a lot more about you with that great post! Congrats on your award. Have a great day!
Hey Jen!
I've completed my post and it'll be up tomorrow. I scheduled it to post first thing. This one was a lot easier than coming up with weird things. lol.
Thank you so much! I loved reading this - so many things I never knew about you! :)
Funny. We didn't haver rice every morning, but it was always present at all holiday meals. You know, Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry and Rice or Ham, Yams and Rice...
That's a great award - thank you! I will pass it along proudly!
Well, I can't cook filipino either. And I didn't eat the box mac'n'cheese until I had kids. And I didn't like it. It makes me want to throw up. Gag. Confession, let's say it's been about 3 years.
I've got other stuff, but maybe someone will tag me with this one some day, so I'd just better save it. :)
Yeah! Thanks for the honesty shout-out.
I still like you, MTV, warts, and all! :)
Aha! I knew there was a reason I liked you -- I still watch MTV a lot. I even Tivo "The Hills" and "The City" so I don't miss an episode.
I figure "Jon & Kate Plus 8" evens it all out. ;)
Girl thanks for the award! I know I'm late getting to it but I promise I will soon!
And your #7 and 7a...it's SO me too!
